| The Laboratory of TCM Genomics has established a TCM functional genomics platform for TCM screening and research. Integrating common TCM curative effect screening with research methods of genomics, proteomics and metabolomics, the platform can be used for drug screening, drug functional mechanism study and TCM drug target detection. The results of these studies will enrich the TCM database and direct the modern TCM research and development. |

The Laboratory of Pharmacology and Toxicology possesses a well-equipped animal facility with internationally advanced IVC independent ventilated breeding cages. Various in vivo pharmacological and toxicological studies can be carried out in the lab.

| The Laboratory of Organic Synthesis was initiated for research and development (R&D) of saponin that contain significant pharmacological activities. The laboratory has also undertaken many key R&D programs including one National 863 project and some major projects funded by Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality. Rich experience in total synthesis of natural saponin and oligosaccharides has been obtained and quite a few patents have been authorized by State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China. |
