The TCM function is characteristic of multi-targets and holism (putting emphasis on adjusting balance), so the researches on the TCM function mechanism can’t be only limited on mono-target. It is a brand-new application field and largest advantage of system biology to detect the expression of crucial genes (i.e. pathopoiesis, immunity, internal hormone and nervous system) in human body to make researches on the TCM function mechanism.
